My topic: Hands free driving

Thesis:  Distracted driving is the number one cause of car accidents, with texting and cell phone use being a major contributor, states need to enact "Hands Free" driving laws to help decrease the number of accidents.

Warning: My thesis is subject to major change.

  1. I think you chose a great topic! This seems to run a little long, maybe consider shortening it or splitting it into multiple sentences? I really like it though, good job!

    1. Thanks, yeah I agree with the length! I think there is somethings I can cut out for sure.

  2. It's a solid topic and I think there should be plenty of support as far as statistics go so make sure you put those in there as evidence!

    1. For sure! I've already found some video clips that go perfectly with my topic!

  3. I really like your topic and think you could (and probably already did!) find some really good statistics and support for your thesis. It's crazy that distracted driving causes more accidents than drunk driving!

    1. I know right, it's kind of scary if you think about it!

  4. It's not the issue with the "hands". It's the issue with the distracted driver. I can drive better with my knees than most people can with both hands on the wheel talking into their bluetooth capable car. The act of carrying on a conversation requires a lot of work. And frankly most people can't talk and drive.

The question you might ask is "how can people carry on conversations in the car?", and I would argue a lot of the time they can't. The other difference with people in the car is that they will get mad at the driver if he doesn't focus.

I like the thesis and where you're going with it! There are huge problems with people that text and drive and I wish this wasn't true.

    1. I totally agree! but I just wanted to focus specifically on texting and driving because it has been such a big issue and you can't really pass a law to keep people from talking with others while in the car. Thanks for you thoughts!
